Engine Repair & Maintenance

The engine is the heart of your vehicle so ensuring that it is well maintained, and repaired correctly if it does fail, is essential to ensuring your car or van remains roadworthy.  At Haywood Garage we have extensive knowledge of petrol & diesel engines which, combined with the latest diagnostic equipment, allows us to quickly diagnose and repair engine faults

Cambelt

Chambelt Change in Stafford & Rugeley

Belt-driven engines use a rubber belt to synchronise the camshaft (which controls the valves opening and closing) with the crankshaft.  It is essential that the cambelt is changed in accordance with the manufacturers recommended intervals as failure typically results in terminal engine damage

Turbochargers have been common place on both Diesel & Petrol engines for a number of years. They work by compressing the air entering the engine, greatly improving efficiency and power output. Due to the high speed at which they spin, turbo failure is common occurance

Cooling System

Responsible for keeping the engine within it’s optimal temperature range, correct operation of the engine is vital to the performance, efficiency and reliability of your engine. Cooling system components ensure your engine doesn’t get too hot, or stay too cold

ECU

ECU Repair - Stafford & Rugeley

The ECU is the brain of an engine, controlling the fuel delivery, ignition (on Petrol & LPG engines) and ensuring your engines runs perfectly. ECU failures are relatively uncommon but will cause severe running issues which can damage other parts of the engine

Oil System

If the ECU is the brain, then oil is your engines blood. It’s role is to lubricate and clean the inside of your engine. Oil system problems are typically limited to small oil leaks which require rectification as running low on oil will quickly result in a failure of your car’s engine
